it's who we are

To become a Christian means that we are committing to become more like Christ.  In looking at Jesus’ life, Go Church recognizes several behaviors that we believe, if practiced, will shape us to become the people that God designed us to be.

We call these behaviors our DNA.  Our DNA is more than just a series of actions that we perform – it is a lifestyle that leads to transformation.  Below, you can find the DNA of Go Church and the tools and environments that we’ve designed to help each of us live like Jesus.

our mission

Multiplication begins to happen when Christians live on mission. Often, we view distant lands as places where ‘missions’ occur, but in Acts 1:8 Jesus tells His disciples that their mission starts right on their own doorstep.

We are surrounded by people who do no know the love of Jesus and are in desperate need of someone sharing that love with them. God has placed you in a unique position to share the Gospel with your friends, neighbors and co-workers. If we wait for someone else to share that message with them, they may never hear it!

Driven by the Gospel

Gospel means ‘good news’. The Gospel is the good news that in spite of our brokenness, God desperately loves and has given us an opportunity for a forever relationship with Him through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus.

The Bible is the Word of God. In it, we find this Gospel, the teachings of Jesus and His disciples, and pictures of who God is. For this reason, we want to be people who are driven by the Gospel. People who dig into God’s Word and let it shape us, move us, and direct the course of our lives.

Tools

Bible Reading Plan – As a community, we want to be digging into the Word of God together. The Go Church Bible reading plan offers a simple way to be digging into the Bible.  Our Sunday Celebrations, Mission Groups and Go Kids are all based on the Bible passages we read each week.  So grab a reading plan and begin to discover God through His Word.

Living on Mission

Go and make disciples. That is the clear mission that Jesus gave all of His followers in Matthew 28.  It’s a mission that has been passed down from generation to generation of Christ-follower - all the way to us today.

Multiplication is an essential word in our church community. We believe that we are called to multiply one-on-one (through personal discipleship), in groups, and as a church (through church-planting).  All of us are multipliers. In doing so, we take part in the life changing mission that has belonged to Christians in all generations.

Celebrate What Matters

What we celebrate is what we become.’ It’s a simple truth that is often played out in our lives unknowingly. But we can be intentional about what we celebrate. We can choose to celebrate those things which draw us into a closer relationship with God and shape us to be better disciples of Jesus.  At Go Church, we believe that it’s important to celebrate two key things:

1) who God is and

2) what God is doing through us. By doing so, we become the people the God designed us to be.

Committed to Multiplication

Go and make disciples. That is the clear mission that Jesus gave all of His followers in Matthew 28.  It’s a mission that has been passed down from generation to generation of Christ-follower - all the way to us today.

Multiplication is an essential word in our church community. Tools:

D1 – D4 Discipleship Materials: We’ve created four different multiplication modules to help you launch into the mission of discipleship.  The multiplication modules are not designed for a solo journey; rather, for a one-on-one relationship.  So partner up with a mentor and discover God’s design for your life through one of our multiplication modules:

D1: Discover – Discover what it means to have a new life in Jesus through this six session multiplication module.

D2: DNA – Discover the heartbeat of the Go Church community through this six session multiplication module.

D3: Disciple-Maker – Every Christian has been called to the mission of discipleship.  This multiplication module trains you to equip others with the skills that they need to disciple others.

D4: Leadership Residency – The leadership residency module is a one-year internship at the Go Church.  In it, you will be partnered with a mentor who will help you discover your path to leadership as you are equipped with necessary skills through hands on ministry.

S.E.R.V.E.

God has uniquely designed you. To top that, when you chose to follow Jesus and were baptized, His Spirit came to reside in you and give you spiritual gifts. When those two things combine – your unique design and spiritual gifting - they act as a catalyst for your unique S.E.R.V.E. personality.

Each of us has been designed to contribute to the body of Christ, the Church. When you fail to use your unique gifting, the Church misses out.

Environment

S.E.R.V.E. Ministries: As part of our weekly Celebration times, we have a variety of opportunities to put your S.E.R.V.E. personality to use in growing God’s Kingdom.  If you’re still looking for where you can contribute to the body of Christ, contact our S.E.R.V.E. team today.

FORMING REAL RELATIONSHIPS

Ultimately, a relationship with God cannot be divorced from a relationship with His people.  In the book of Acts, we see the 1st century church doing life together.  The church of the 21st century should be no different.

God designed us for real relationships.  Relationships that are authentic, transparent, encouraging and life-giving.  We believe that these relationships only happen when we extend beyond the large group and begin to connect to others who are heading the same direction on a day-to-day basis.

Environment

Connect Groups: Connect Groups meet together to (1) give real relationships an opportunity to thrive, (2) to provide a launching ground for spiritual growth, and (3) to meet real needs.  Get connected to a group.
