THE PULSE: Oh The Places We'll Go!

I love our name, Go church... But at first, I didn’t.

I personally wanted to call the church Remedy Christian Church. I liked the sound of that much better; I'm glad it wasn't my decision alone to make. I think God knew what the church would be named before we did. I think God also knows what we will do before it happens. I have to say, I'm excited to see what happens next. I absolutely love being a part of this church. This past year and a half has been such a wonderful adventure. Sometimes it seems like a dream come true,  while other times feel like we bit off a little more than we could chew, but it all has been worth it. God has given us such a wonderful opportunity and I know that I want to do the best we can, with the time that we have been given.

I love the name, Go Church, because it reminds us that we should be moving, that we have a purpose that requires movement. If we are going to live up to our name we cannot sit still. We have to keep moving! Go Church is going somewhere! We should be intentional and specific about where exactly we go. Jesus spoke into my life just as He has spoken into others lives. He told us what our purpose was, and gave us a clear mission. His final word on earth to His disciples (and to you and me) were, “Go make disciples of all nations.” Jesus told us to baptize people in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. He told us to teach them to
obey everything He commanded us to do. And then, after giving us our instruction, Jesus promised us He will be with us always, to the very end of our adventure. This is our purpose that requires movement!

Jesus commands us with the first word, “Go” and that is exactly what we will do. The real question is, how are we going to go? How are we going to “GO MAKE DISCIPLES”? We would like to use this blog as another way to tell you how we at Go church are going to go. We want you to read and learn about how we are going and growing together. This will be a great way for you to look a little deeper into who we are as The Church.

If you want to know where Go Church is going then check in here for "The Pulse".
Every other week we will have new content for you to enjoy and hopefully grow from. Our goal is to create a culture at Go Church to help us accomplish our mission, and we have been forming a strategy to help us accomplish our mission. In the weeks to come there will be more content from the Go Church leadership team focusing on HOW we accomplish this mission. We have constructed 5 core values that will help us get there. We call these 5 core values the Go Church DNA. In the coming Pulse blogs you will hear more about our DNA.

In addition to talking about how Go Church is going, we would like to talk about how Go Church is growing. Next week will be the first of many written testimonies from our members that will give us an opportunity to get to know each other a little bit better. A chance for you to see how we are growing closer to Jesus all the time. I believe if you want to get to know the church you have to get to know the people. In fact, I don't think there's any other way. You will also catch a glimpse of the one who is truly responsible for all the transformation that happens in and around Go Church, our Lord Jesus Christ. Don’t forget: Our purpose requires movement! Please join us as we go make disciples and check back next week to stay informed about the adventure of Go Church. I will leave you with this.

Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!”
